Welcome to Conscious Therapy Connections

If you've spent years trying to meet impossible standards, constantly feeling like you're falling short despite your best efforts, your ADHD brain might finally have the answers you've been seeking.

Here, we transform "What's wrong with me?" into "This is how my unique brain works.

Therapy in Illinois + Consulting anywhere

If you were diagnosed with ADHD later in life, I help you make sense of all the stuff that never quite added up. We’ll unpack what looked like personal failures and finally see them for what they really are: ADHD patterns. From there, we’ll ditch the masking and start building systems (and self-compassion) that actually work for your brain.

〰️ consulting for therapists 〰️ build a neurodivergent-affirming practice

Does this sound familiar?

• You've always felt "different" but couldn't quite explain how

• You developed elaborate systems to appear organized while chaos reigned beneath the surface

• You're high-achieving in many areas but struggle with seemingly "simple" tasks

• You've been called "too sensitive," "too much," or "scatterbrained"

• Your diagnosis brought both relief and grief

These experiences are common among people diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood. The constant adapting and masking often leads to burnout, anxiety, and self-doubt. Therapy can help you understand these patterns and develop a new relationship with your neurodivergent mind.

At Conscious Therapy Connections, we honor the layered, intersecting identities that shape who you are. You are not “too much” or “too complicated” here. We know that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all—and we welcome the whole of you.

Samantha Skvaril, MA, LCPC, ADHD-CCSP

I am a down-to-earth, relatable therapist who brings humor, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental space to therapy. I believe healing happens in connection, and having an empathic other to truly see and understand you is a key part of that process. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and experiences that have shaped you—not to pathologize, but to bring more clarity, self-compassion, and choice.

As an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP)—and someone with lived experience of late-diagnosed ADHD—I know how ADHD can show up in women, and how exhausting it is to spend years building coping strategies without knowing why you needed them. I combine specialized training with real-world experience, using evidence-based ADHD strategies and trauma-informed care to help you tackle both the practical challenges and the emotional weight of the journey.

@scatterbrainshrink I was today years old, (34) when I learned that ADHD can make you ignore your body’s signals—like needing to pee—and it suddenly makes so much sense. As a kid, I always held my pee, and my mom would comment on it all the time. I’d wait so long I’d literally pee my pants. Turns out, this is super common for ADHD women because of interoception issues, hyperfocus, and task avoidance. Did anyone else experience this? This is LITERALLY what we mean when we say having ADHD causes trauma. I couldn’t even count on one hand how many times I peed my pants at sleepovers when I was younger because I just never listened to my body. I even peed myself, on the gym floor to be exact in first grade or kindergarten in front of the whole class. I also blamed it on the kid next to me (god how awful I feel now about that) It makes so much sense now! Did anyone else used to hold their pee? I truly still do but I’ve gotten so much better at listening to my body over time plus after two kids, it’s kind dif now👀 Thanks @healthyhappyadhd for this tidbit of information today! #ADHDWomen #ADHDAwareness #hyperfocus #momswithadhd #neurodivergent #traumatic #adhdsupport #adhdinwomen ♬ How Bizarre - OMC
@scatterbrainshrink When I had my son, I wasn’t medicated for my ADHD. I barely remember those early years—it’s a blur of chaos and exhaustion, and it breaks my heart. This time, I chose to stay on my meds during pregnancy. Because of that, I remember every nap, every cuddle, every milestone with my daughter. Staying on my meds wasn’t just for me—it was for her. And it’s a decision I’ll never regret. #adhdinwomen #momlife #momlifeunfiltered #adhdmedication #mentalhealth #ppd #maternalmentalhealth ♬ Stuff We Did (from 'Up') - Piano Version - your movie soundtrack
